Gerry Rafferty

Gerry Rafferty, born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1947, was a guy who played guitar and wrote songs. He got into street music before getting into more serious things. He played with Billy Connolly in a folk group, then formed the Humblebums, and later released a solo album. In 1972 he teamed up with Joe Egan to form Stealers Wheel. In the end, he went solo, and from 1975 he released several solo albums.

The song that marked him the most was «Baker Street», with his saxophone that went into the head. It was on the album *City to city* from 1978. He also wrote «Stuck In The Middle With You», which was used in *Reservoir Dogs*. Although he was a good guy, it was hard for him to work with big names like Clapton or McCartney. He had problems with alcohol and the industry, once it took him three years to get out of a contract.
