The album started to move quickly. The song Baker Street was the first one to be released, although Rafferty wanted it to be that way. The song went to the top, reaching number one in Canada and spending weeks on the US top chart. There were also other songs that made noise, such as Right Down the Line and Home and Dry. On the B-side of Baker Street there was Big Change in the Weather, which also had its moment.
The album also featured the Bushwackers, an Australian band, on the song The Ark. They played an intro with violin, concertina and bodhrán, and also used as a guitar solo in the middle of the song. They were paid 25 pounds for the session, but were never paid. One of the musicians was Louis McManus Jnr, who was born in Paisley, the city of Gerry.
