The sound of a-ha, a Norwegian band, is defined by its synthpop, a proposal that took them to London from Oslo in 1982. The trio, composed of vocalist Morten Harket, guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, and keyboardist Magne Furuholmen, sought to make their way in music. Even the band's name, a-ha, has a particular story: it emerged from the lyrics of one of their first songs and, after checking dictionaries in several languages, they discovered it was an international expression of recognition with positive connotations, which made it short
