Hunting High and Low

The story behind
a-ha released Hunting High and Low in June 1985, a synth-pop album that put them on the map. They recorded at Eel Pie Studios, in Twickenham, London, with producers who also worked on other projects. The album had five singles, among them Take On Me, which became an international hit. The band made a video for the song, which combined live action with animation, something novel at the time. The video was first shown on a local station and then on MTV. Take On Me reached number one in the United States and number two in the United Kingdom. Another single, The Sun Always Shines on T.V., also received good reception, especially in Europe. The album sold over 500,000 copies worldwide.
