The story behind
Seamisai, according to DoReSol
The song *Seamisai* by Laura Pausini, originally released in 1997, has an interesting history that goes beyond its melody. Although no music video was recorded, the piece gained airplay and was part of her participation in that year’s Festivalbar, where Pausini received recognition as the Italian artist with the highest global sales. The Spanish version, titled *Cuando se ama*, was also included in the album *Las cosas que vives*, serving as the final single for that edition in Latin America and Spain.
A notable aspect of *Seamisai* is its evolution. In 2001, a new duet interpretation with Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil was presented, blending Italian and Portuguese under the title *Seamisai (Sei que me amavas)*. This collaboration was included in the compilation album *The Best of Laura Pausini - E ritorno da te*. Later, in 2002, this duet version was released as a single in Brazil, and a similar adaptation, *Cuando se ama (Sei que me amavas)*, appeared in the Spanish album *Lo mejor de Laura Pausini - Volveré junto a ti*. Additionally, *Seamisai* has been featured in other productions, such as the album *Esperança (International Version)* and live recordings like *Live in Paris 05*. The song also had a moment on Brazilian television, being used as the soundtrack for the telenovela *Terra nostra 2 - La speranza* in 2001. Even in the year 2000, Italo-Brazilian artist Deborah Blando recorded her own version for her album *Salvatrice*. The original musical composition is by Giuseppe Carella, with lyrics by Cheope, and the Spanish arrangement was handled by Badia.
