The story behind

The song *Nada fue en vano* by No Te Va Gustar, with a duration of 3 minutes and 49 seconds, is from the album *El Calor del Pleno Invierno*, released in 2012. This album, the Uruguayan band's seventh studio effort, marked a milestone by being the first to reach the top position on sales charts in both Uruguay and Argentina. The production was handled by Federico Lima and Sebastián Peralta, and featured renowned guests such as Fernando Ruiz Díaz, Gabriel Peluffo, Jorge Serrano, and Germán Daffunchio. This work also received a nomination at the Latin Grammy Awards and three at the 2013 Graffiti Awards. A significant detail of the recording of *El Calor del Pleno Invierno* is that it was No Te Va Gustar's first album without the presence of keyboardist Marcel Curuchet, who sadly passed away.

The band No Te Va Gustar, popularly known as NTVG, has its roots in Montevideo, Uruguay, since 1994. Initially, it was a trio formed by Emiliano Brancciari, Mateo Moreno, and Pablo Abdala. Over time, in 1997, the lineup expanded, incorporating a variety of rhythms such as reggae, candombe, ska, and murga, which enriched their sound. Influenced by Uruguayan popular music, Argentine rock, and groups like Oasis and The Beatles, the band adopted its name in a curious way: when asked what they were called, they replied "no te va gustar" (you won't like it), referring to a previous name they prefer not to reveal due to superstition. The wit of the response became their definitive identity.
