The story behind
Mucho corazón, according to DoReSol
The song *Mucho corazón*, with its melody that evokes past times, is one of the gems of Luis Miguel's album Romance. This album, released on November 19, 1991, marked a turn towards bolero, a genre that the artist knew how to revitalize for a new audience. The original idea was to continue working with Juan Carlos Calderón, but plans changed when he could not compose for the project. Faced with the urgency of fulfilling his contract, and following his manager's advice, Luis Miguel decided to explore the world of bolero. For this new phase, the record label WEA Latina enlisted the renowned Mexican composer Armando Manzanero, who collaborated on the production alongside Luis Miguel himself.
The recording of Romance began in August 1991 at Ocean Way Recording studios, located in Hollywood, California. There, Bebu Silvetti was in charge of the arrangements. The album features twelve interpretations of boleros that originally saw the light of day between 1944 and 1986. The duration of *Mucho corazón* is 3 minutes and 24 seconds, a perfect time to immerse oneself in the nostalgic atmosphere that characterizes these pieces. This work consolidated Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as a central figure in Latin American music, demonstrating his versatility by navigating genres as diverse as pop, funk, jazz, and, of course, bolero.
