The story behind
The story behind *Júrame* takes us to a plea for unconditional love, where one person begs their beloved to promise that their affection will be eternal, regardless of circumstances. The lyrics, born from the pen of María Grever, focus on the fascination with the other's gaze and the desire to be the only thought in their mind, forgetting anyone else. This piece has resonated over time, being interpreted by a notable list of artists, including José Mojica, Hugo Avendaño, Juan Camacho, Nelson Ned, Julio Iglesias, and Plácido Domingo, before being recorded by Luis Miguel.
Luis Miguel's version is part of his album Romances, released in 1997. This album is the third in his *Romance* series, where the artist dedicates himself to reinterpreting Latin songs dating from 1940 to 1978. For the production of Romances, Luis Miguel collaborated with arranger Bebu Silvetti and the direction of Armando Manzanero, who was in charge of all the albums in this series. The recording took place in early 1997 at Ocean Way Studios, located in Los Angeles, California. The album, which includes twelve versions of classic songs and two new compositions, had a great impact, selling over 4.5 million copies and achieving platinum certifications in several countries in Spanish America, the United States, and Spain.
