The story behind

The first time we heard *Incancellabile*, we encountered a melody that invites reflection, a piece that feels personal and profound. The composition, by Giuseppe Carella, Fabrizio Baldoni, and Gino De Stefani, with lyrics by Cheope, manages to convey an emotion that transcends language. For the Spanish-speaking market, Badia's adaptation brought *Inolvidable* to life, while in Brazil, Cláudio Rabello did the same with *Inesquecível*. This multilingual approach, with music videos filmed in each of these versions, demonstrates the intention to connect with diverse audiences. The video itself, filmed in Iceland in late July 1996, in a volcanic landscape, with aerial and ground shots, adds an impactful visual layer to the song's emotiveness. The piece is dedicated to Alfredo Cerutti jr, who was the artist's partner at the time, giving it an intimate and personal nuance.

The song, released as the first single from the album *Le cose che vivi* in 1996, became a starting point for the album's promotion. Over the years, *Incancellabile* and its versions have resonated in different formats. We find it on compilations such as *The Best of Laura Pausini - E ritorno da te* (2001) and in renewed versions on *20 - The Greatest Hits* (2013). Furthermore, it has been performed live on various tours, being recorded on DVDs and albums like *Live in Paris 05* (2005) and *San Siro 2007* (2007), and even in a medley on *Laura Live World Tour 09*. Its presence also extends to television, serving as the soundtrack for the Brazilian telenovela *Salsa e Merengue* in 1996, and *Inolvidable* for the Colombian series *La otra mitad del sol*. The connection with Brazil was deepened with live performances of *Inesquecível*, including duets with artists like Sandy & Junior in 2001 and 2004. The song's influence even extends to versions by other artists, such as the salsa rendition by Frankie Negrón in 1997, and more recent covers by LP Norteño and El Komander in 2024.
