The story behind
High Fidelity, according to DoReSol
The song *High Fidelity* has a duration of 6 minutes and 2 seconds, a considerable time that invites immersion in its atmosphere. This track, along with others from Daft Punk's debut album, *Homework*, was conceived in a home studio, as the album title itself suggests. The French duo, formed by Thomas Bangalter and Guy‐Manuel de Homem‐Christo, had already been working on their sound before signing with Virgin Records in 1996, after releasing singles that caught attention on Soma Quality Recordings. Initially, they thought of releasing their music as independent singles, but the amount of accumulated material led them to the idea of a full album.
*Homework* became a milestone, reaching third place on the album charts in France and eighth in the United Kingdom. Tracks like *Da Funk* and *Around the World* climbed to first place on the US dance charts. Daft Punk's influence on french house is undeniable, and their artistic journey, which began with the band Darlin', led them to explore electronic music. Pedro Winter, also known as Busy P, was their manager from 1996 to 2008. The success continued with subsequent albums like *Discovery* in 2001, which included hits like *One More Time* and *Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger*, and *Human After All* in 2005. Their live album *Alive 2007* earned them a Grammy in the Best Electronic/Dance Album category.
