The story behind

This track, Funk Ad, has a very short duration, barely 51 seconds, but it condenses an energy that anticipates what was to come. It is a sample of how Thomas Bangalter and Guy‐Manuel de Homem‐Christo, under the name Daft Punk, began to forge their sound. They, who met in Paris and came from a previous band called Darlin', turned to electronic music. Their first major work, the album Homework, released in 1997, was recorded in a home studio, hence its title. This record, which included singles that reached the top spot on dance charts in the United States like Da Funk and Around the World, positioned them on the musical map.

The career of Daft Punk, who were also represented by Pedro Winter (known as Busy P) between 1996 and 2008, was characterized by constant evolution. After Homework, their second album, Discovery (2001), driven by tracks like One More Time, Digital Love, and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, consolidated their popularity. Then came Human After All in 2005, with singles like Robot Rock and Technologic resonating in the United Kingdom. The experience of touring in 2006 and 2007 culminated with the live album Alive 2007, which earned them a Grammy.
