The story behind

Aceptémoslo, according to DoReSol

Let's face it sounds like a sketch left in the drawer, but that doesn't make it any less fascinating. It's one of those recordings that seem to capture something raw, just before a song finds its definitive form. You listen to it and feel that it's there, in that limbo between what it could have been and what it ended up being: a piece of history that never became an official album, but holds early versions of songs that Fito Páez himself would later take to other records. It's not a rarity because it's incomplete, but because of what it reveals: how the artist sounds when they're still trying out paths, without production filters or final adjustments. The tape was recorded in Rosario in 1988, under the title Novela, and was nothing more than a demo intended for the soundtrack of a short film that was never released.

The project fizzled out due to funding issues, but the songs that remained recorded there — like Aceptémoslo, which lasts 3:06 — ended up being seeds of what was to come. Two of them, As de Poker and Novela, resurfaced years later with different names and arrangements in Circo Beat (1994) and in Fabiana Cantilo's album Sol en Cinco (1995), respectively. Even Las brujitas, which later became Ay for the children's album Piojos y piojitos (1991). It's not common to find material like this: recordings that seem like drafts, but end up being bridges to later successes.
