LaNuestra isn’t a name that needs explaining: it sounds like a band from the first syllable. When you listen to Somos mucho, the first thing you notice is that there’s no room for the generic. The production by Rodrigo Ferreiro —a member of Paiko— already sets it apart: the instruments sound as if they were recorded in a closed room, without studio filters to polish them. It’s no coincidence. The track starts with a bassline that seems to walk on its own, while the drums hit in a rhythm that can’t be pinned down to any single genre. Then comes the voice, clear and direct, as if the singer were telling something you already know you’ll understand.
