Bohemia urbana

Bohemia urbana started moving in 2003, when a guy named Jaime Zacher, who also sang, decided to try something. At first it was just him, but soon he joined up with old friends from his town, Ypacarai, who also knew how to play. Among them was Arianna, who besides performing, did audiovisual stuff and played percussion at times. There was also Leandro, who played percussion, and Alejo Jiménez, who took care of things like the charango, flamenco guitars and the pianica. Together they formed a project that was going to be more than just a rehearsal.

They didn't take long to add Rodney Cords, another longtime friend, who played guitar. Over time, Ruth Villalba joined, who played the Peruvian cajón and percussion; Celso “Cachito” Galeano, who played electric bass; and Derlis Burgos, who handled the drums. In total, on stage there were eight musicians, which gave a quite complete show, with a lot of quality and variety of instruments.

More about Bohemia urbana

Biography

From the beginning, the group managed to attract a lot of people. They moved easily between different styles, which made them reach many people. Among the rhythms they play are things like reggae, tango, the paraguayan polca, rumba, bossa nova and others that go beyond, even with touches from the altiplano. What is clear is that they don't stay within a single sound.

Sometimes, during the show, Javier Zacher, Jaime's brother, also appears, who sings in the background. He is part of the group Salamandra and contributes a voice that completes the atmosphere of the performance.
