Kchiporros

Kchiporros is a Paraguayan band that mixes ska, cumbia and pop. They formed in 2006 in Asunción and released their first EP that same year. The album immediately put them on the map, both in the country and in the region. Their sound is unusual, combining rock with cumbia and using instruments from different genres. That's why their music sounds like a journey through different soundscapes.

They released seven albums and are on tour through Latin America and Europe. In those tours they visit countries like France, Ireland, Spain, Mexico, among others. Sometimes they invite other artists, like Underground Cult or Toy Selectah, who also helped produce an album. The band is very active, and that opened doors to international festivals.

Biography

The first three albums were produced by Martin "La Moska" Lorenzo and Mariano Franceschelli, of Los Auténticos Decadentes. The last two were done by Matías "El Chávez" Méndez, of Árbol. All were released under the label 4KCHO Records, which they founded in Paraguay in 2007. The band started as Nde Kchiporros, the name they used before releasing their first EP, which helped them rise from obscurity.

In 2007 they created their own record label, 4KCHO Records. With that label they released their first album, *Guaraní Cool*, and started playing in several Paraguayan cities. They also began to appear at international festivals. In that album participated Gustavo Parisi and La Moska. The relationship with Los Auténticos Decadentes strengthened, and the band became part of the local circuit.

The year 2008 was the year of the second album, *Kchiporros*, produced by La Moska and Mariano. They recorded in Buenos Aires, in the Panda studios. That year they won the Grupo Revelación award, representing Paraguay at the Música de las Américas festival in Spain. The album featured collaborations with Diego de Marcos LAD, Sebastián “Cebolla” Paradisi and “Bolsa” González. The sound continued to evolve, and the band kept growing.
