Carolina Giraldo Navarro (Medellín, February 14, 1991), better known by her artistic name Karol G, is a Colombian singer and songwriter. She is considered one of the most influential figures in contemporary urban and Latin music. Her career mainly focuses on reggaeton and urban pop, although she has also explored various Latin American genres and rhythms.She launched nationally in Colombia with the song «301» alongside singer Reykon in 2012, reaching the top of several radio stations and TV channels. However, she gained greater recognition in 2013, when she released the song «Amor de dos» alongside Nicky Jam and moved to the city of New York in 2014 to learn more about the music industry, signing a contract with Universal Music Latino.Her collaboration with the Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny on the track «Ahora me llama» was the lead single from her debut album Unstoppable in 2017, which reached second place on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.

Months later, she did a remix with Quavo, giving the singer her first entry into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. At the end of 2018, her song «Secreto» became a hit in Latin America, while she and Anuel AA publicly confirmed their relationship in the music video. In 2018, she won the Grammy Latino award for best new artist and has been nominated for other awards such as the Billboard Latin Music Awards and the Premios Lo Nuestro.In July 2019, she released «China» in collaboration with Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, J Balvin and Anuel AA, which became her first music video with over a billion views on YouTube.[citation required] In May 2019, she released her album Ocean, which marked a stylistic change from Unstoppable, presenting a more relaxed atmosphere in her music.
