Rauw Alejandro doesn’t sound like an artist who arrived by chance. His music blends reggaeton with layers of R&B and dancehall, but what stands out most is how that sound is built: with grooves that repeat like a heartbeat and lyrics that flow between the sensual and the introspective. It’s not just the rhythm that captivates, but the way melodies intertwine with the beats, as if each song has a core that revolves around something not always easy to define. That said, he always keeps one foot on the dance floor and the other in the intimacy of the studio.What many don’t know is that his rise to fame wasn’t immediate. After trying his luck in football and leaving due to an injury, he spent a couple of years dabbling in dance and even attempted a path in professional sports.

But music ultimately won. In 2014, when he started uploading songs to SoundCloud, no one imagined that this kid from San Juan singing about love and heartbreak would end up becoming one of the most recognizable voices in modern reggaeton. His first major moment came with «Toda», a track that, though not an instant hit, eventually opened doors when the remix with Cazzu, Lenny Tavárez, and Lyanno blew up in 2018. By then, he had already signed with Duars Entertainment, and his name was starting to resonate in collaborations with artists like Ozuna and Kevin Roldán.But it was in 2020 when everything changed. With Afrodisíaco, his debut album, he proved he could take reggaeton to another level, blending sounds that don’t usually coexist.
