El león

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs released El león in 1992. It was an album that mixed everything the band knew how to do: salsa, reggae, ska, calipso. It felt like they were celebrating the music of the Caribbeans, but with that Argentine touch that defines them. They released songs one after another, as if there was no limit. "Carnaval toda la vida" was the first, and then "Gitana", "Siguiendo la luna", "Manuel Santillán, el león" and finally "Desapariciones".

About the album

El león, according to DoReSol

The album was released on vinyl, but only 500 copies were made. And they didn't have all the tracks: only 12 of the 15 that were on the CD. People bought it in Argentina, and at that time, vinyl records were no longer the most common. Although it wasn't a sales success, El león remains an album with many songs that marked history. "Arde Buenos Aires", "El crucero del amor", "El aguijón"... these tracks are heard as if they were classics. Many say it is the band's best work.
