The story behind
When one delves into the early recordings of Leo Dan, one encounters surprises that go beyond melody. His debut album, released in 1963, not only featured twelve songs from his own pen but also showcased an interesting fusion of influences. For example, the song Desencadena mi corazón is an adaptation of Unchain my heart, while Deci porque no queres bears the signature of Palito Ortega and Dino Ramos. This initial work, recorded with Milo Y Su Conjunto, already hinted at the versatility that would characterize his career.
This record, originally released in Argentina by CBS and Columbia Argentina, was well received, and songs like Celia, Fanny, Deci porque no queres, and Canta el corazón resonated strongly. The album's distribution extended beyond Argentine borders; in Peru it was known as Para ellas through the Sono Radio label, and in Brazil it was released by Gravações Elétricas S.A., demonstrating its continental reach from early on. The version for Colombia was handled by Discos Tropical.
