The story behind
Vai sola, according to DoReSol
The song *Vai sola* by Nek, with its 4 minutes and 21 seconds duration, presents itself as a piece that invites reflection on independence. It was included in his fourth studio album, *Lei, gli amici e tutto il resto*, released in 1996. This work marked a turning point in the Italian singer-songwriter's career, as it led to his signing with a larger record label and was the first time a version of his songs was recorded specifically for the Spanish-speaking market.
The creation of *Lei, gli amici e tutto il resto* represented for Nek, whose real name is Filippo Neviani (born in Sassuolo in 1972), the beginning of a new phase, as he himself described it. For this album, he surrounded himself with a renewed team, including producer David Sabiu and Massimo Varini, who not only collaborated on the composition of the tracks with Antonello De Sanctis but also handled the arrangements and artistic production. This creative freedom and the new working environment were fundamental in shaping a sound that would resonate throughout his career.
