The story behind

Todos los gatos son pardos, according to DoReSol

The song Todos los gatos son pardos by La Unión lasts 2 minutes and 49 seconds. The sound and production of this track, like other creations by the group, were marked by the influence of Nacho Cano, who was responsible for the arrangements and production along with Rafael Abitbol.

La Unión was formed in Madrid in the early eighties, with Rafa Sánchez on vocals, Luis Bolín on bass, Mario Martínez on guitar, and Iñigo Zabala on keyboards. The group released their first album, Mil siluetas, in 1984, the same year they also released Lobo hombre en París, a hit that kept them at the top of the charts for three months. After other works such as El maldito viento and the compilation 4x4 in 1986, Iñigo Zabala left the band in 1988. From then on, the group took on the production of their own albums, such as Vivir al este del edén, and embarked on tours in South America. In the early nineties, they released the album Tentación, which included well-known songs like Berlín and Ella es un volcán. In 1992, they released an extensive compilation titled Tren de largo recorrido, which included a concert recorded in La Coruña where audience participation was notable. A stylistic shift came in 1993 with Psychofunkster Au Lait, an album that explored psychedelic sounds and themes such as Africa and Hermana tierra.
