Sildavia

When you dive into Sildavia, the song that La Unión released in 1984, you encounter something more than just a simple track. The title itself takes you to an imaginary place, Syldavia, that country that Tintin visited in his adventures. It's a nod that already invites you to think outside the box from the start. This single not only became a hit, but it climbed to third place on the sales charts in Spain, and what's more, it led the programming of Los 40 Principales during the week of December 8th of that same year.

The genesis of Sildavia is linked to the production of Nacho Cano and Rafael Abitbol, who also handled the arrangements. The song was part of the group's first album, Mil siluetas, released in 1984. The music video that accompanied the track premiered on the TVE program *La bola de cristal*, adding a visual layer to this piece. Years later, in 2001 and again in 2013, Sildavia was re-released, this time included in the album Hip.Gnosis. The group, with Rafa Sánchez at the helm, Luis Bolín on bass, Mario Martínez on guitar, and Iñigo Zabala on keyboards, was already coming off an important year with the release of Lobo hombre en París, which catapulted them to number one for three months.
