The story behind
Eclipse total, according to DoReSol
Upon listening to Eclipse total, one encounters a piece that, while not the best-known by La Unión, holds interesting details for those who take the time to observe it. The production of this track, like others by the band, featured the participation of Nacho Cano, who also handled the arrangements. Alongside him, Rafael Abitbol shared production duties, marking a particular sound in the group's discography.
The band, formed by Rafa Sánchez on vocals, Luis Bolín on bass, Mario Martínez on guitar, and Iñigo Zabala on keyboards, began their journey in Madrid in the early eighties. While Lobo hombre en París, released in 1984, was a great success that took them to the top of the charts for three months, Eclipse total belongs to a later period in their career. After Iñigo Zabala's departure in 1988, the band took direct charge of producing their work. In the nineties, they released the album Tentación, which included songs like Berlín and Ella es un volcán. Later, in 1993, they experimented with new sounds on Psychofunkster Au Lait, exploring psychedelia with songs like Africa.
