The story behind
Teachers, according to DoReSol
In _Teachers_, Daft Punk decides to give voice to a list of names, almost like a parade of key figures in the electronic scene. The song, with a duration of just 2:53, is built around the repetition of these names, presented in a direct and rhythmic way. There is no complex melody or traditional chorus; the focus is on the cadence of the vocals and the energy that emanates from the accumulation of these references. It is a way of acknowledging and celebrating those who, in different ways, have left their mark on the music they themselves create.
The album of which it is part, Homework, was the first major step for Daft Punk. Recorded in a home studio, as the title suggests, this record saw the light of day in 1997. Before releasing the full album, the duo had already caught the attention of major record labels thanks to several singles they had published. They decided they had enough material for an album, and Homework ended up being a success, reaching popularity charts in several countries. Songs like _"Da Funk"_ and _"Around the World"_ became hits on the dance charts in the United States. The producers behind this sound are Thomas Bangalter and Guy‐Manuel de Homem‐Christo, the two members of the duo.
