The story behind
When Soda Stereo was taking its first steps, there were two songs that opted to be showcased with music videos: *"Te hacen falta vitaminas"* and *"Dietético"*. Both were recorded in 1984 and were included in the band's first studio album, released that same year. The idea was to introduce themselves to the public with a sound that moved within what was called "fun music," a style that mixed humor and irony with playful lyrics, something that was felt in other bands of the time like Los Twist or Viuda e Hijas de Roque Enroll. In fact, the chorus of *"Te hacen falta vitaminas"*, with its "¡Oye! te hacen falta vitaminas," inspired the creation of another track on the same album, *"Mi novia tiene bíceps"*, simply by listening to the tape backward on a recorder. Zeta Bosio's initial shout, "¡Eyo!", makes direct reference to that peculiarity.
The recording of *"Te hacen falta vitaminas"* has its anecdote. It was filmed for the television program Música total, and the band performed a rather playful playback. Gustavo Cerati, who at the time worked in a medical laboratory, had asked for the day off to record, but his bosses saw him on television. This cost him his job, but from then on, he dedicated himself more strongly to Soda Stereo. The music videos from this early stage, including the one for *"Te hacen falta vitaminas"*, were low-budget and amateur in style, but they turned out to be very important for the history of Spanish-language rock. The song was played live from the band's first concert in December 1982, and later, starting from the Gira Signos tour, it was merged with *"¿Por qué no puedo ser del Jet-Set?"* into a medley called *"Vita-Set"*, which remained in the repertoire until 1989. It was not performed again until the Gira Me Verás Volver tour in 2007. In 2007, Rock.com.ar ranked it 73rd on the list of the 100 best songs of Argentine rock.
