The story behind
Strani amori, according to DoReSol
When Laura Pausini appeared at the 1994 Sanremo Festival with Strani amori, the song was already ready to captivate. It was the first single from her album Laura, released in February of that same year, and was quickly heard on the radio. The lyrics, born from the collaboration between Cheope, Marco Marati, and Francesco Tanini, along with the music created by Angelo Valsiglio and Roberto Buti, shaped a piece that resonated strongly.
The impact of Strani amori was notable. It not only reached third place in the Campioni category of the Italian festival but also demonstrated Laura Pausini's talent outside her country. The Spanish version, titled Amores extraños and adapted by Badia, was released as the third single in 1995 in Spain and Latin America, as part of her first Spanish-language album. The original music video for Strani amori was filmed in Florence, showing different stages of a relationship, while the version of Amores extraños was recorded in Bologna. Over the years, Strani amori has been included in various compilations and live versions, including a virtual duet with Renato Russo in 2010 for the album Duetos.
