The story behind
Social Disease, according to DoReSol
The song Social Disease, with its 4:18 runtime, adds to the characteristic sound of the album Slippery When Wet, a work that defined an era for Bon Jovi. This album, released in August 1986, was recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, under the production of Bruce Fairbairn. The recording sessions spanned between January and July of that same year, with Tim Crich and Bob Rock handling the engineering, and Bob Rock also on mixing duties. Slippery When Wet became an immediate success, driven by tracks like You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer, and Wanted Dead or Alive, making the glam metal album the first to place three songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
To promote this album, the New Jersey band, led by Jon Bon Jovi, embarked on the Slippery When Wet Tour, which ran from July 1986 to October 1987.
