The story behind
Sexo!!, according to DoReSol
The second album by Ultraje a Rigor, titled Sexo!!, released in 1987, addressed themes that broke barriers in the music industry. One of the standout songs, "Prisioneiro", with lead vocals by their bassist Maurício Defendi, narrated the story of a character involved with crime and corruption. This theme led to the song being censored and unable to be broadcast on radio by the Federal Censorship. The album contained other notable pieces such as "A Festa", "Eu Gosto de Mulher", "Pelado" —which was part of the soundtrack for the telenovela Brega e Chique by Rede Globo—, "Terceiro", and the title track. The band Ultraje a Rigor was formed in the early 1980s in São Paulo, Brazil.
Their recognition came in 1983 with songs like "Inútil" and "Mim Quer Tocar". By 1985, they achieved great popularity with the album Nós Vamos Invadir sua Praia, which earned them the first gold and platinum record for Brazilian rock, later being recognized as the "best national rock album" by MTV Magazine in 2008. The initial lineup included Roger, Leonardo Galasso, Sílvio, and Edgard Scandurra, although Sílvio was replaced by Maurício Defendi shortly after adopting the band's name. Roger is the only member who has remained since the beginning. In 2011, the band participated in the show Agora É Tarde on Rede Bandeirantes, and they are currently part of SBT's programming on the show The Noite.
The duration of the song Sexo!! is 4 minutes and 39 seconds.
