Retrato Pra Iaiá

The story behind

Los Hermanos recorded Retrato pra Iaiá in 2001, within their second album, Bloco Do Eu Sozinho. The song was born amidst pressure from their label, Abril Music, which wanted another hit after the success of Anna Júlia. To avoid tension, they decided to do it in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, away from the city. During the process, the bassist, Patrick Laplan, left to focus on his personal project, because, as it is said, he wasn't satisfied with the sound the band was taking on. Their producer, Alexandre Kassin, stayed to finish the recording. Upon completion, the label rejected the album, but the song remained.
