The story behind

Sepultura released Ratamahatta in October 1996, as the third single from their album Roots. The song lasts just over four minutes and was recorded between October and December 1995 in a rehearsal studio in California. It was produced by Ross Robinson and released under the label Roadrunner Records.

The track features Carlinhos Brown on vocals and David Silveria of Korn on percussion. Jonathan Davis was also part of the project. The video was filmed using a technique called Stop Motion, directed by Fred Stuhr. The song was written by all members of the band.
