The story behind
Que Dios te aleje de mí, according to DoReSol
When the Argentine singer-songwriter Leo Dan recorded his first album in 1963, he included a piece titled Que Dios te aleje de mí. This work, entirely his own, was part of a collection of twelve songs that were released in Argentina under the CBS and Columbia Argentina labels. To bring these songs to life, Leo Dan collaborated with Milo y Su Conjunto.
The album, which bore the artist's name, had a distribution that crossed borders. In Peru, for example, it was known as Para ellas, distributed by Sono Radio, while in Brazil the edition was handled by Gravações Elétricas S.A. and in Colombia, Discos Tropical was responsible for its dissemination. Among the list of songs, some tracks like Celia, Fanny, Deci porque no queres, and Canta el corazón managed to resonate especially. Curiously, Desencadena mi corazón is an adaptation of Unchain my heart, and Deci porque no queres was authored by Palito Ortega and Dino Ramos.
