The story behind

Perdedor, according to DoReSol

Perdedor” doesn’t sound like anything Lali had recorded before. The song kicks off with a guitar riff that repeats in a sharp, almost defiant rhythm, and from the first measure it’s clear she’s not aiming for the polished shine of her pop tracks. Lali’s voice shifts between a whisper and a restrained shout, as if each word demands a different kind of effort, while the bass weaves lines that tangle with the drums in a pulse that refuses to follow the traditional four-on-the-floor. There’s a touch of garage in that sound: just the right amount of distortion, dry percussion, and a sense that everything was captured in a single take, without retouches to soften the edges.

The lyrics play with the idea of losing as something inevitable, but not from a place of victimhood—instead, it’s framed as an act of resistance. The track appeared on the album No vayas a atender cuando el demonio llama, released in late April 2025, and while the record explores various styles, “Perdedor” is one of the few songs where raw rock takes full control without concessions. It clocks in at three minutes and forty-one seconds in the final version, but live performances often stretch it out: Lali tends to improvise between verses, letting the band explore the tense silences that follow the chorus. Production credits go to Mauro De Tommaso and Don Barreto, who had already worked with her on her 2023 album, but here the sound feels rawer, as if they’d cranked the amplifiers to the max and recorded without editing out the imperfections.
