The story behind
Pecado é lhe deixar de molho, according to DoReSol
The song *Pecado é lhe deixar de molho* is one of the tracks that make up the second album by the project Tribalistas, released in 2017. This trio, formed by Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes, and Carlinhos Brown, had already surprised the public fifteen years earlier with their first work. The uniqueness of this group lies in the fact that its members, coming from different cities in Brazil —Marisa from Rio de Janeiro, Arnaldo from São Paulo, and Carlinhos from Salvador—, often had to coordinate their meetings to create together due to the geographical distance.
The collaboration between Arnaldo Antunes and Marisa Monte, for example, dates back much earlier than the formation of Tribalistas. As early as 1989, Marisa included a version of *Comida* on her first album, a song originally by Titãs, the band of which Arnaldo was the vocalist. Over the following years, Marisa frequently performed compositions by Arnaldo and Carlinhos, strengthening a bond that went beyond the professional realm to become a solid friendship. This deep connection is what, in a way, made the formation of Tribalistas almost inevitable, uniting these artists who already shared a musical history of nearly a decade. The debut album, released in late 2002 in Brazil and the following year internationally, was a great success, reaching the top of the charts and selling 1.5 million copies in its country of origin alone, all without the need for a promotional campaign or interviews. The duration of *Pecado é lhe deixar de molho* is 2 minutes and 59 seconds.
