The story behind
The song *Oh Yeah* by Daft Punk, with its duration of just two minutes, condenses an energy that invites movement. It's a direct cut, no frills, that feels like an instant spark. Producers Thomas Bangalter and Guy‐Manuel de Homem‐Christo built this track with a no-nonsense structure, ideal for those looking to feel the rhythm from the first second.
This track is part of Homework, the debut album by this French duo, which saw the light of day on January 20, 1997, distributed by Virgin Records and Soma Quality Recordings. The duo's original idea was to release their creations as individual singles, but the amount of material they had led them to consolidate it into an album. The title, Homework, refers to the fact that a large part of the music was created in a home studio. Daft Punk, formed by Guy Manuel de Homem‐Christo (born in 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born in 1975), had already been exploring house sounds in the late nineties. Before consolidating as Daft Punk, Bangalter and de Homem‐Christo were part of a band called Darlin'. The album Homework was well received, reaching positions on charts in several countries, including third place on the French Albums Chart and eighth on the UK Albums Chart. Singles like *Da Funk* and *Around the World* reached number one on the US dance charts.
