The story behind

Nothing Left to Say / Rocks, according to DoReSol

The way Nothing Left to Say and Rocks are joined into a single track is quite particular, and its nearly nine-minute duration gives it space to develop. What's interesting is that this union came about, in part, for a practical reason: the album Night Visions had an eleven-song limit due to licensing costs. Thus, what could have been two separate tracks ended up merging into this final piece of the record.

The creation of Night Visions was a process that spanned about three years. The album, released in September 2012, was a work in which the band itself was very involved in production, also collaborating with Alex da Kid and Brandon Darner. Darner, who also had ties to The Envy Corps and previously to Slipknot, contributed to several songs on the album. Musically, the album moved between influences of folk, hip hop, and pop. When it was released, Night Visions had an immediate impact, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 in the United States and selling over 83,000 copies in its first week. The band, formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, had begun their journey in 2008 and had already entered the studio for the first time in 2011, releasing several EPs before this debut album.
