The story behind
It’s Time, according to DoReSol
When Dan Reynolds, the vocalist of Imagine Dragons, felt that everything was starting to fall into place after a long musical session, the moment was approaching for his band to release their first album. That album, titled Night Visions, came to fruition after three years of work, and several of its songs had previously appeared on EPs. Musically, the record blends elements of folk, hip hop, and pop, showcasing a diverse sonic palette. The recording of Night Visions featured the band itself, producer Alex da Kid and Brandon Darner, member of The Envy Corps. For sound engineering, Rob Katz and Josh Mosser were involved, while mixing was handled by Will Brierre and Mark Needham.
The track It’s Time, with a duration of 4:00, was one of the singles that propelled Night Visions. This debut album by Imagine Dragons, a band originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, selling over 83,000 copies in its first week. The album, released in September 2012 through Kidinakorner and Interscope Records, proved to be a considerable commercial success. The band, formed in 2008 and originally named Ragged Insomnia, entered the studio for the first time in 2011. Prior to this album, they had released EPs such as Imagine Dragons EP and Hell and Silence EP in 2010, as well as an EP titled It's Time.
