The story behind
The song Noches de boda, with its duration of 4 minutes and 45 seconds, emerges from a particular moment in the career of Joaquín Sabina. It is taken from the album 19 días y 500 noches, a work that became a milestone by selling half a million copies. The production of this album was handled by Alejo Stivel, who was previously part of the band Tequila. The edition was managed by BMG Music Spain. This album, which totaled 74 minutes and 18 seconds, represented Sabina's most extensive work to date. Its official release was on September 6, 1999, and the presentation took place the following day at the Museo del Ferrocarril in Madrid.
The gestation of 19 días y 500 noches was not a simple path. Seven months were needed for its recording, and negotiations for its release were intense. The record label, BMG Ariola, had initially expressed reservations about a double album, citing its high cost and the Spanish market's unfamiliarity with this format. Finally, Joaquín Sabina agreed to adjust the format of his work. The agreement stipulated that the compositions left out would see the light of day at another time. For the mixing of Noches de boda, the work of Brett Rader was enlisted, while the overall production fell to Enrique Berro García and Alejo Stivel.
