The story behind
Ahora que…, according to DoReSol
When you dive into the universe of Ahora que…, you encounter a piece that unfolds with a considerable duration, almost seven minutes. The recording and mixing of this track were handled by Brett Rader, while the production was in the hands of Enrique Berro García and Alejo Stivel, who was previously part of the band Tequila. This work is part of the album 19 días y 500 noches, a milestone in the discography of Joaquín Sabina.
This album, released on September 6, 1999, was an ambitious project. It took seven months for its recording, and the negotiations for its release were not straightforward. The record label, BMG Music Spain, had initially expressed doubts about the advisability of a double album, citing the high cost and the Spanish market's unfamiliarity with such extensive formats. Finally, an agreement was reached that allowed the songs that were left out to see the light of day at another time. The album, with a total duration of 74:18 minutes, became Sabina's longest to date. The official presentation took place on September 7 at the emblematic Railway Museum of Madrid.
