The story behind
Creedence Clearwater Revival recorded a version of My Baby Left Me on their album Cosmo's Factory in 1970. The original song was written in 1950 by Arthur Crudup and recorded in Chico with Ransom Knowling and Judge Riley. It was released by RCA Victor the following year. Elvis Presley performed it in 1956, as the B-side of a single that included I Want You, I Need You, I Love You. Presley's version went on to sell over a million copies. Later, Slade included it on a single in 1977, as a tribute to Elvis, who had died that year. The song remains a staple in the blues and rock genres. ↓ Skip to chordsIntro 1
