Mio Cristo sounds like a journey in which Rosalía stretches time: four and a half minutes where each note seems to breathe slowly, as if the rhythm resists releasing the tension. It is not the flamenco we know, but neither is it pure pop; it is that intermediate zone where the palos fray and the synthesizers tangle with the cante jondo. The title, in Italian, already warns: it is not a prayer, but a lament that hardens into diamonds — or into tears, depending on how you look at it. What stands out most is the arrangement by Daniel Lopez: there is no hurry in the chord changes, as if the song circles around itself before taking the definitive step.
