The story behind
Mi última serenata, according to DoReSol
When Leo Dan released his first studio album in 1963, there was already a seed of what his path would be. The album, which bore his name, brought together twelve songs from his own pen, although with a couple of interesting exceptions. One of them, Desencadena mi corazón, took the essence of Unchain my heart, while Deci porque no queres was the work of Palito Ortega and Dino Ramos. To bring these compositions to life, Leo Dan worked alongside Milo y Su Conjunto, creating a sound that would resonate in various corners of Latin America.
This first work had a fairly wide distribution. In his native country, Argentina, it saw the light through the CBS and Columbia Argentina labels. But the music crossed borders: in Peru, the album was known as Para ellas, released by Sono Radio. And in Brazil, the label Gravações Elétricas S.A. was responsible for its dissemination. Songs like Celia, Fanny, Deci porque no queres, and Canta el corazón became highlights of this initial production, showcasing the versatility and charisma that would characterize Leo Dan's career.
