The story behind
The song *Mi respuesta* was born in 1998, a time when Laura Pausini was already consolidating her style. She herself participated in its writing, along with Cheope and Claudio Guidetti, shaping a piece that would become the third track on her fourth album, which bore the same name. This Spanish version, *Mi respuesta*, was included in her first compilation, *The Best of Laura Pausini: E ritorno da te*, released in 2001. The original Italian version, *La mia risposta*, appeared on the Spanish edition of that same compilation.
The music video for *Mi respuesta*, directed by Luca Lucini, premiered during Pausini's 1999 tour and began airing on Italian music channels in March of that year. This audiovisual material was also part of the video album *Video Collection 1993–1999*, released in 1999. Laura Pausini performed the song live at the 1999 Festivalbar festival, in cities like Ascoli Piceno and Lignano Sabbiadoro, broadcast on Italia 1. A live version of *Mi respuesta* was included in her first live album, *Live 2001–2002 World Tour*, recorded on December 2, 2001, at the Mediolanum Forum and released on November 30, 2002. Additionally, the song was part of a medley during a concert in Paris in March 2005, which was later released on DVD as *Live in Paris 05*. The recording of the song took place in 1998, and its release as a single was in 1999, under the CGD East West label. The musical genre is defined as Pop and Latin Pop, with a duration of 3:41.
