The story behind
When Leo Dan released his first studio album, titled Leo Dan, in Argentina in 1963, he presented a collection of twelve songs from his own pen. However, there are two notable exceptions. One of them is Desencadena mi corazón, which is a Spanish version of Unchain my heart. The other is Deci porque no queres, a composition signed by Palito Ortega and Dino Ramos. To bring these songs to life, Leo Dan worked alongside Milo Y Su Conjunto.
From this debut album, several songs resonated strongly and achieved great success. Among them were Celia, Fanny, Deci porque no queres, and Canta el corazón. This initial work by Leo Dan was not limited to Argentina; in Peru, the album was released under the title Para ellas by the label Sono Radio. On the other hand, in Brazil, the distribution was handled by Gravações Elétricas S.A., while in Colombia, the local label Discos Tropical was responsible for its publication. The canonical title of one of the songs, which is surely part of this initial stage, is Mi barrio es tepito.
