The story behind

This song was born in a trial-and-error moment, much like those demos recorded between rehearsals and drafts. Love is Falling Over My Heart is part of an untitled cassette released in Fito in 1988, a project that never became what its creators envisioned: the soundtrack for a short film that never materialized due to lack of funds. What’s curious is that, although the material was shelved, some of its songs later found their place on other albums, as if time had rewritten them. The track itself lasts just 3:12, but in that brief journey, there’s something that sets it apart: it sounds like a living sketch, unpolished, where every note feels like it was meant for something bigger than a demo.

What’s most surprising is how this recording, made in Rosario in the late eighties, ended up becoming a bridge between what Fito was exploring then and what would come later. The artist had already been part of the Trova rosarina, but on this demo, traces of his more experimental phase still mingled with the first glimpses of what would later become his signature sound. It wasn’t an album meant to sell, but to test, and in that gesture lies an authenticity you can feel when you listen: the strings sound as if they were tuned on the fly, the piano carries the urgency of someone who doesn’t know if there’ll be another take. Most striking is that, despite being a passing recording, it ended up as a document of transition—a fragment of sound that survived its own initial failure.
