The story behind
Los Corazones Necesitan Amar, according to DoReSol
This short song, lasting just over three minutes, is one of those pieces that emerge during a transitional moment. Los Corazones Necesitan Amar was born on a demo tape that Fito put together in 1988, before his name resonated on the radio. It wasn’t an official album, but a demo with fourteen tracks that the musician from Rosario prepared for the soundtrack of a short film. The project never came to fruition due to funding issues, but some of those recordings—like this one—eventually resurfaced in different versions years later. The magic lies in that raw, unfiltered air: it’s the essence of Fito before success turned him into a mass-market name, when only the sound—and not the market—mattered.
What’s curious is that, despite its humble origins, the song carries its own weight. It’s not just another track from a forgotten tape: it’s proof that even in small things, ideas endure. The artist let it rest until 1994, when he revived it for inclusion in Circo Beat, his most celebrated album. There, between piano and drums, the lyrics and melody found their definitive place. He wasn’t chasing a hit, but something that sounded true—and that’s exactly what he achieved: a song that needs no embellishments to connect. Years later, in 2000, the Latin Grammy would recognize it as part of his career, but back then, all that mattered was that it could finally be heard without rush or excuses.
