The story behind
Lookin’ out My Back Door, according to DoReSol
When you encounter Lookin’ out My Back Door, it's easy to feel that energy that invites you to move. The song, with its contagious rhythm and that guitar line that gets stuck in your head, transports you to a place where worries seem to be left behind. It's as if a door is opened to a simpler and more fun world, a sonic escape that feels very direct and accessible, just what you're looking for when you want to learn to play something that makes you feel good.
This piece is part of Cosmo's Factory, the fifth studio album by Creedence Clearwater Revival, released on July 8, 1970. It was an incredibly productive period for the band, as this record came just two years after they began to achieve international success. In fact, Cosmo's Factory was CCR's sixth album to reach the top of the charts in six different countries. The album itself remained for nine consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, and in 1990 it was certified 4x platinum. Rolling Stone magazine, in its 2020 list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time", ranked it at number 413. The composition and arrangements of Lookin’ out My Back Door were handled by John Fogerty, who also took care of the production. The band's style, often described as "swamp rock", is manifested here with a rich and varied sonic palette.
