The story behind
Lettera, according to DoReSol
The song Lettera, released in 1994, is from Laura Pausini's second studio album, titled Laura. This piece, with an approximate duration of 3 minutes and 45 seconds, was recorded at Santanna Recording Studios, located in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena. The musical genre that defines it is Pop, and its composition is the work of Angelo Valsiglio, Giovanni Salvatori, Cheope, and Marco Marati. The original Italian version translates to Spanish as Carta, also appearing on the album Laura Pausini. As the B-side of this single, La soledad and Perché non torna più were included.
The release of Lettera coincided with Laura Pausini's participation in the 1994 Sanremo Festival, where she debuted in the Giovani category after having won the previous year. Although her performance at the festival, with the song Strani amori, received criticism for being considered conservative and adolescent, the album Laura, released by CGD Records on February 26, 1994, managed to sell three million copies worldwide. This album also included the second single extracted, Gente, and some of its tracks were adapted into Spanish.
