The story behind

Lejos de tu amor (versión remix), according to DoReSol

When we explore the sound universe of Shakira, we find a piece that, although not the best known in her repertoire, speaks to us of her beginnings and a very personal way of creating. The song Lejos de tu amor (remix version), although presented in this version, has its roots in a very early moment of her career. Her first album, Magia, released in 1991, was a compilation of compositions that the artist had been developing since she was very young, some even from the age of eight. This work, recorded with Sony Music Colombia when she was barely thirteen, sought to reflect her youthful experiences, her dreams, and the stories that surrounded her. However, the result was not as expected commercially, selling only about 1200 copies, partly due to challenges in production and material cohesion.

Later, Shakira would consolidate her path in music, debuting in the Hispanic American market in 1996 with Pies descalzos. On this album, she collaborated closely with Luis Fernando Ochoa, who participated in the composition and production of the eleven tracks. Songs like Estoy aquí, ¿Dónde estás corazón?, and Antología marked a turning point. The creative connection with Ochoa would continue in later works, such as ¿Dónde están los ladrones?, and her international projection would be solidified in 2001 with Laundry Service. In subsequent years, Shakira would continue to explore collaborations, working with figures like Lester Mendez and Gustavo Cerati in the production of various songs, demonstrating a constant evolution in her sound.
