The story behind
Lejos de tu amor, according to DoReSol
When Shakira was just thirteen years old, she was already recording her first album, Magia, under the label Sony Music Colombia. This record, released in 1991, is a collection of songs she had begun writing herself at the age of eight, mixing personal experiences, adventure stories, and coastal dreams. Despite the artist's youth, the recording presented challenges in terms of production cohesion, and the album did not achieve the expected impact, selling only about 1200 copies.
From that first work, Lejos de Tu Amor was released as the second single. This song, within the Latin pop genre, also did not achieve a significant impact at the time, and unlike other releases, it did not have an official video. The piece, with a duration of 2:56, represents one of Shakira's first steps in the music industry, showing her facet as a singer-songwriter from an early age, born in Barranquilla, Colombia.
