The story behind

La puerta, according to DoReSol

The song *La puerta*, with its characteristic melody that spans just over three minutes, delves into the world of bolero, a genre the artist explored deeply in their album Romance. This record, released in November 1991, marked an interesting turn in their career. Originally, there were plans to continue working with Juan Carlos Calderón, but that idea was postponed when he was unable to contribute compositions. Facing the pressure to meet their recording contract, and following a suggestion, the artist decided to focus the project on bolero.

To bring Romance to life, Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero was brought in to co-produce the album alongside the artist themselves. Recording began in August 1991 at Ocean Way Recording studios, located in Hollywood, California. There, Bebu Silvetti handled the arrangements. The result was a collection of twelve boleros, whose original versions date from between 1944 and 1986. The album became a benchmark, and songs like *Inolvidable* and *No Sé Tú* gained great resonance.
